In search of a grant program?

The Community Foundation is supported by hundreds of funds created by local citizens — our grantmaking is as diverse as our donor family.

Although most funds benefit the specific interests of our donors and are not available for application, there are many funds that are open to charitable organizations and individuals in the Hudson Valley region through a competitive application process.

The Community Foundation seeks to be a responsive and proactive community partner that works strategically to address existing and emerging community issues. The Community Foundation has invested millions in the form of grants to not-for-profit groups. Organizations recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and/or a qualified government entity and located in our service area are eligible to receive grants. Grant applications will be available from this site based on the schedule below. If you have any questions, please contact Cristin McPeake, Director of Programs.

Donor Advised Grants

Aside from the formal grant programs, tax-exempt organizations serving Dutchess, Ulster, and Putnam County, NY can also apply for support from Donor Advised Funds. Organizations interested in discussing funding opportunities for consideration should submit a letter of inquiry to the Foundations. Once approved, an application form is available through the Online Application Portal and is titled Donor Advised Fund Requests.

You will be notified if the request will be considered, if additional information is required, or if the request will not be considered. If the request fits into of the Foundations existing grant programs you must utilize the guidelines/applications/deadlines for those programs.
