Hudson Valley Farm Fresh Food Initiative

In 2013, thanks to the generous support of the Local Economies Project of The New World Foundation, the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley launched the Farm Fresh Food Initiative, a multi-pronged and diversified approach to reaching food insecure children, adults and seniors where they live, in both urban and rural locations. Through strategic grants to nonprofits the Initiative has created and sustained a network of partners to gather and distribute free and low cost produce at food pantry and mobile farmer’s markets, offer home delivery of food to the elderly and chronically ill, provide health and nutrition education for school children and adults, and deliver wraparound services to those in need.
